How Do I Care for Liquid Core Dice?

Liquid core dice are made from resin, so they're pretty durable. Still, that doesn't mean it's impossible to scratch them, and these guys are so cool that that would be a darn shame. To keep them in tip top shape, storing them in a cushioned dice tin and rolling in a padded dice tray is always recommended.

Should These Dice Be Treated Differently Than Standard Dice?

Emotionally? No. 

Physically? Yes. 

The most obvious difference between liquid core and any ol' regular dice set is reaction to temperature. If you're like me and you've ever left an entire case of Lacroix in your car overnight in Michigan in February, you know liquids expand when they freeze. And when they expand beyond the confines of their containers—POP! So, yeah, don't do that. Don't let them freeze.

Do Liquid Core Dice Roll Differently? Are They Balanced?

This we tested thoroughly. At first, we tested them the traditional way: by rolling them over and over and over again. We did so alongside a standard set of solid, resin, sharp-edge dice. They performed fine over hundreds of rolls (yes, we have a little time on our hands here in the summer). 

Then we tried the salt test. We attempted to float them in a salt water solution, but to our surprise, the liquid core die didn't float. It simply refused to do so. 

To find out why, we weighed the liquid core die and a similarly-sized, sharp edge die. The difference in weight was less than a gram, yet the standard die floated and the liquid core did not. I'm no scientist, so let us know if you have a theory as to why.

How Do I Manipulate My Friends and Family Members Into Buying Me These Babies for My Birthday/Christmas/What-Have-You? 

It's quite simple, you see. All you have to do is use repeated, gentle, subliminal messages on a daily basis. Ask them meaningless questions like "Is the core of the Earth really liquid? Or is that a myth?" Or maybe "Man, it sure is liquidy out there today, ain't that just the core of our problem?" Follow this up with several winks and nudges. 

Personally, I prefer the sly and mysterious "Don't we all have liquid cores inside us after all?" Which is totally true if you've greatly misunderstood your anatomy classes. Anything is possible if you squint hard enough at your textbooks. 

Anyhoo, the last and final thing to do is slip this link here into their cereal without being noticed. A foolproof plan, I must say.
