Where to Buy DnD Dice

Where to Buy DnD Dice

When buying new dice, you should ask yourself about the style, balance, and price. But how can you be sure of getting the style you want, the balance that makes the game, and at a price that’s in your budget? I’ve done some digging for options that will make your next dice buying adventure even easier.

  • Amazon
  • eBay
  • Etsy
  • Independent retailers like Awesome Dice :)

Each of these options offer something unique to your game. But since not all dice are created equal, it’s better to shop smart while keeping within your budget. I’ll show you some places to shop where you can get the dice you want without sacrificing your preferences.

Amazon and eBay

Amazon and eBay may seem like obvious options to get cheap dice, and they each have their own unique advantages. However, there are some disadvantages that you should consider.

Amazon

If you are looking for a metal dice set and you want to pay as little as possible, then Amazon may be the best place to shop. You can find cheap dice of all kinds here, leaving you to choose which one you like the best. There are even some metal dice that are under $15.00!

Remember, reviews are your most valuable source of information because you can discover any potential flaws and how well the dice roll before you buy. However, be aware that some online reviews are less than honest.

For example, reviewers may be receiving free merchandise or other payment for leaving positive reviews, and some reviews may even be total fakes submitted by the seller themself. You should always consider both the number of reviews as well as the number of stars an item has. For instance, an item with 4 stars and 10,000 reviews holds up better than an item with 5 stars and only 30 reviews.

Overall, shopping from Amazon has its benefits, such as fast shipping and low prices, but there are possible cons to consider as well. For example, your choices may be limited or sellers may not be selling any out of print dice. Thankfully, that’s where eBay comes in.

eBay

eBay is a popular site for selling and auctioning items. This includes all things ttrpg. Their dice selections are sold by individual people and it's possible that you may find rare or out of print dice.

eBay’s auctions can make it hard to actually buy the dice because there is only one winner, but you can look for a “buy it now” option to purchase the dice outright. While auctions can be annoying, eBay is a great place to find those limited editions.

However, maybe retired dice aren’t for you or you aren’t a fan of auctions. If you want to surprise your table with custom dice that have ducks, skulls, or something else embedded in them, I suggest Esty.

Etsy

Etsy is a site that supports small, independent creators and businesses. Everything sold there comes from people with a passion for what they are doing. This means you can find some interesting design choices or even commission your own set of personal dice.

There is no limit to the creativity these creators have. In fact, a large majority of all the dice sold on Etsy are either hand-made or designed by the artist to be produced by a trusted dice manufacturer (ensuring proper dice balance).

If you want to shop small and support passionate creators, Etsy is a great option. But what if the dice on Etsy aren’t your style? What if you want to purchase some tried and true Chessex Dice or Q-Workshop dice?

Have no fear, I have the perfect shop in mind for you!

Awesome Dice

That’s right! Awesome Dice sells Chessex Dice and Q-Workshop dice for everyone that wants that gold standard. If you aren’t comfortable ordering dice from unknown manufacturers, then I suggest grabbing some of these official dice.

With Chessex Dice and Q-Workshop, you know that the dice you buy will have the style you love, the balance you crave, and a price that you’ll like. Awesome Dice allows you to leisurely shop from a wide selection of dice offered at fair and reasonable prices that are ready to ship right to your door! In fact, Awesome Dice makes shopping for your dice easy and affordable.

Awesome Dice also keeps up to date on all the latest trends and designs in the ttrpg dice world. If you want something new and polished that you know you’ll love, check out Awesome Dice frequently and really wow your table with your new set of dice.

. . .

All in all, shopping for dice is not always an easy task, no matter what some folks may think. Dice must have a union of style, balance, and price. After all, no one wants to buy a set they don’t absolutely love!

I hope these shopping options help you find your next set of dice. Happy rolling!
