Each of these options offer something unique to your game. But since not all dice are created equal, it’s better to shop smart while keeping within your budget. I’ll show you some places to shop where you can get the dice you want without sacrificing your preferences.

Amazon and eBay

Amazon and eBay may seem like obvious options to get cheap dice, and they each have their own unique advantages. However, there are some disadvantages that you should consider.

Amazon

If you are looking for a metal dice set and you want to pay as little as possible, then Amazon may be the best place to shop. You can find cheap dice of all kinds here, leaving you to choose which one you like the best. There are even some metal dice that are under $15.00!

Remember, reviews are your most valuable source of information because you can discover any potential flaws and how well the dice roll before you buy. However, be aware that some online reviews are less than honest.

For example, reviewers may be receiving free merchandise or other payment for leaving positive reviews, and some reviews may even be total fakes submitted by the seller themself. You should always consider both the number of reviews as well as the number of stars an item has. For instance, an item with 4 stars and 10,000 reviews holds up better than an item with 5 stars and only 30 reviews.

Overall, shopping from Amazon has its benefits, such as fast shipping and low prices, but there are possible cons to consider as well. For example, your choices may be limited or sellers may not be selling any out of print dice. Thankfully, that’s where eBay comes in.

eBay

eBay is a popular site for selling and auctioning items. This includes all things ttrpg. Their dice selections are sold by individual people and it's possible that you may find rare or out of print dice.

eBay’s auctions can make it hard to actually buy the dice because there is only one winner, but you can look for a “buy it now” option to purchase the dice outright. While auctions can be annoying, eBay is a great place to find those limited editions.

However, maybe retired dice aren’t for you or you aren’t a fan of auctions. If you want to surprise your table with custom dice that have ducks, skulls, or something else embedded in them, I suggest Esty.

Etsy

Etsy is a site that supports small, independent creators and businesses. Everything sold there comes from people with a passion for what they are doing. This means you can find some interesting design choices or even commission your own set of personal dice.

There is no limit to the creativity these creators have. In fact, a large majority of all the dice sold on Etsy are either hand-made or designed by the artist to be produced by a trusted dice manufacturer (ensuring proper dice balance).
